D is for Dog, every day

Attila and I have a secret.  Every morning, we meet at the kitchen window and I sneak her a little snack without the other dogs knowing.
It's been years and we've never been caught.
Rain or shine, when I put the kettle on, she's there waiting for me.  I love this quirky animal so much.

She makes a pretty picture.
There is an amaryllis plant outside the window.  Last spring, for thirty days, I took a photo of Attila and the flowers as they grew.

Here's a slide show.

Wishing you a lovely week.  And the devotion of a dog.

  2. Gorgeous dog! I have the same thing, but instead of being greeted nicely every morning while I'm still asleep a cat stomps across my hair demanding to be fed.

    1. I wish I could add a few cats to my menagerie, Sheila, but the dogs would not approve. Cats are special though, and so good at letting one know exactly what their demands are!

  4. I suspect it means as much to Atilla as it does to you. Animals, and the ability to have such an understanding with them, is an amazing blessing! And what a beautiful view to wake up to each day!

    1. Thank you Jodi. Henning often says that Attila and I are soul sisters. I think if dogs were persons, we would be very much alike.

  9. Let's hope your other dogs don't read your blog in private - it would be a shame if this special secret between Attila and you would no longer be a secret. What a lovely ritual... and your picture show with the growing amaryllis showing how time passes by was so nice.

    Greetings
    Birgit

    1. Wa ha, Birgit, all they do is lie in the sun and wait for dinnertime. I think it is safe to disclose my secrets on the blog.

  10. Hello, Megan - What a sweet post, and what a sweet relationship between you and Atilla. I've had many dogs in the past, although none at present. Maybe it's time for another one! Your slide show was a pleasure to see. Thank youl

    1. Dogs fill a special place in one's heart, Marjorie. At some time in future we will be moving, and won't be able to take dogs with us. Fortunately, that day is still a long way off and I'm sure none of the dogs we have now will still be around, but I think knowing that these are our last dogs, makes them all the more spoilt and special.
